Hi,

it's a while since the last journal. Not everything is fine but that is another story.

I found two facebook sites which contains a lot of stolen photos including my own and a lot from other people I know here on dA or in real life. I already sent some messages to some people to inform them. One site has sometimes but not everytime a link to the copyright owner which is fine but the other one is worse. I asked to get my photos removed and two friends joined writing that the photos were stolen and we were all blocked. I thought I could inform you about the thieves and maybe you can talk to them as well.

The first site with lots of stolen photos and also from where I got blocked for asking to get my photos removed: www.facebook.com/pages/Beauty-…
Please have a look if your works are stolen as well and maybe tell others about it. And I would be glad for your support if you can get the creator of that page to remove the stolen photos.

And the other one (which at least gives credit in some posts but still not for every photo): www.facebook.com/pages/Love-An…

Thanks for reading so far.

www.facebook.com/help/www/4002… This should be the easiest way to get it taken down. I'd do it, but they have nothing of mine and you need to report as a copyright holder. :)

Thank you. Well I think I will do that. It just annoying that people don't understand that photos and other images belong to someone.

Good luck. It really annoys me too - some people have no respect...

Thanks but that person is going on with uploading some of my photos and fb just removes the images I report as if they don't want to shut down a page full of stolen work.

How bad. I hope you get them removed. The bad thing is facebook lets them continue too long before shutting the page down :( The do only something if a lot people report but it doesn't look as if many have a look for their photos there.

If the page owner is not cooperative you can report copyright infringement to Facebook -- www.facebook.com/help/40028785…

I hate those kind of people! Fly killing
When I was young I didnīt know either anything about copyright and that it is actually
real crime if you spread pictures which donīt belong to you.
But I bet theyīre no kids anymore and theyīre doing it on purpose. Otherwise they would have
deleted them after they got told so. Like I was shocked back then when I heard about that and
never touched someone else pics again...
You donīt have to beg them to delete your pics though. You can sue them for arttheft and you will
actually have very good chances, especially because there are a lot of other artists who
would support your back.

I don't like them either. I think a lot people had that time when they didn't know but that should end if they're told that it isn't right. To sue them, I need money first to pay the lawyer..

Mh true, but youīll get the money back if you win.
And also thereīs the possibility to get help from a lawyer
for free or nearly free if you proof that you have no or
a low income where I live, maybe thereīs something
like that for you too?
Plus Iīd make a defence insurance for the future, so you
donīt have to worry about the lawyer anymore in such cases. :)

I posted something on both sites. If I alone do that, it most likely wonīt help...
But if lots of people write something, they might change their mind and remove the stolen pictures...
Good luck with that!

Thank you a lot, that could be a start. Maybe a few more people will tell them they're doing something wrong, sooner or later they must realize it. I don't know what it is with people taking stolen photos.

If you ask many people for permission to show their art, I think it yould happen that you accidentially display art you didnīt get permission... But I guess they never asked for any picture...
So if they are really young, they could think "Pictures in the internet are for everyone, I love animals and want to share these great photographs with my friend", but then they (or at least I) would apologize as soon as I find out that itīs not right...

Well, they probably never have made any art they are proud of themselves, so they donīt get it...

I really hope theyīll take yours (and all the other stolen pictures) off facebook...

Maybe. By the way: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi…;
read the comments:
"if he's not the photographer, ban the idiot..."
"hahaha I JUST DID!! I"

Interesting...
"I ban everyone who starts problems"
"If you want me to remove your pics, just tell me"
If you tell him / her and he / she blocks you... That doesnīt really sound like removing...
But well, you can see it as a step in the right direction.

"I am no thief"
Actually, he / she is. Must thing something like "Asking everyone is too much work. If you have a problem with me posting your pics, you can ask me to remove them."
As if you had nothing else to do to go find those people and waste your time arguing with them...

Has he / she removed your pictures, by the way? (I hope so...)

I tried to make her (actually I think it's a her) remove not just my photos by telling her that she knows which photos she has stolen and which should then be removed. The page creator replied that I should be more exact about the photos belonging to me and before I could write any more, I was blocked. So not a single photo was removed and another one of mine was posted a day later.

Iīm blocked, too...
I wanted to write something to the stuff she (and her "friends") wrote, but I couldnīt. (Maybe Iīm just stupid, but it worked yesterday evening, so Iīm quite sure Iīm blocked, too...)

Iīm sorry it didnīt help...
You know that the law is on your side. (But I know that I wouldnīt want a lawsuit myself...)
A lousy situation  :(
