Yes I took this shot with my point and shoot camera. I tried with my D-SLR before but almost burnt my eye. I closed the aperture by pressing the dof preview button to prevent much light from hitting my eye but when pressing the shutter release, the camera opened the aperture before the mirror flipped up letting the whole light hit my eye causing a few hours of pain ._. Any suggestions how to take landscape photos with the sun as an element with an D-SLR without risking eyesight?
You see the river Lippe in this shot which I took a day after
Comments as well as critiques are much appreciated
Honestly what category is this shot? Sky or Waterscape? It has both as main subject xD

I really like this, I suppose my one wish would be for more shore detail rather than that black mass in the center, but since you were shooting with the sun in the image I realize why that cannot work perfectly.
Thank you so much for your words Well I could try to lighten it up, some details are left on the shore. I also could try to get it better exposed with HDR (but I don't have any HDR experience).
Thank you very much Yeah the reflection was the main reason why I composed it as it is now. I missed the minutes of perfect light but I think it's still ok.
