It's not easy to get good close up photos with a bridge camera because such a camera is slow at zooming and slow at getting the focus right especially with moving animals. Cropping was the easiest way to get a sharp close up so I cropped.
that's so true! I'm lucky to have two reflex cameras, I can change fast. Now I would like to change my nikon d200... but first I have to find someone that wants to buy it! Camera bodies are very expensive and I'm a poor teacher!

Yes they're very expensive and I was lucky to get my first D-SLR a few days ago with telephoto lens for a very small amount of money (which still was much for me). I would have liked to get a newer model but that would have been more than three times of the amount of money I had..
