This is Lois, one of the two maned wolves from the Aachener Tierpark. He got his mate Mel, who arrived from france a few weeks ago. The Maned Wolf (Chrysocyon Brachyurus) is listed as near threatened in the IUCN Red List. The species is threatened by the destruction of his habitat for which we are the reason.

I took this shot while Lois was waiting for yet another fish. He got that scratch on his nose just before as he tried to steal a fish from Mel. He is very fast with eating a fish, he swallows it before you can say "fish" but Mel needs her time. The keeper distracted Lois to give Mel enough time to eat in peace.

This is the best photo I could get of them, sorry for not capturing his whole ears. I don't know why but it's very difficult for me to get a good shot of them especially when they're moving..
