May I introduce Bess one more time to you? She's the female jaguar (Panthera Onca) from the krefelder zoo.
Some people need to manipulate a photo to get a black background. Well I don't. She stayed in front of a little cave which made it possible for me to capture her with that black background ^.^ Thank you Bess. (However I had to remove aberration around her)
Have a look at the following website for information about jaguars. German: Jaguar English: coming sooner or later.. (I'm currently too busy)
Comments as well as critiques are much appreciated

Bess is beautiful, as is this photograph of her. The composition and arrangement is just perfect - it was very nice of her to stand in front of the cave so you could get that lovely black background!
The focus is really good, keeping the details precise and sharp around her face (and those whiskers!), fading into slight softness towards her shoulders. With the plain background, that slight shift in focus gives the image a sense of depth which really works.
To be honest, there's nothing I would suggest to improve this photograph. It's gorgeous just as it is and a joy to look at.
Wow! What attracted me to this photograph was the contrast of the animal to the black background. This technique is so effective in animal photography, and it definitely works here. It shows strength, freedom, and bravery of this beautiful jaguar. However, this technique is also widely used among many animal photographers, so I have seen it done so many times. But as you described above, this black background was not edited, so well done on working with what you have! The profile is appropriate for this piece; the jaguar appears to be watching something, and the audience is left wondering what she could be strongly gazing at. Overall, this work is inspiring and bold. Well done!
